Despite the closer proximity to Exeter, the school lies within the Salisbury Diocese. The school has close links with St John the Baptist church in Hawkchurch, which is a part of the Golden Cap group of churches. This includes churches in Devon and Dorset. Each Thursday two members of our local church, come into school to share Christian stories with our pupils called Open the Book. A Bible story is enacted with costumes, props and participation from the children. After the story, there is a time for quiet reflection and a closing prayer, which children may make their own if they wish to say “Amen.”

We visit the church at Harvest, Christmas and Easter, where services are led by Reverend Sarah Godfrey, from the Golden Cap group of churches, and are supported by the children. 

The school Nativity is held at the church and is supported by members of the parish.

Reverend Sarah Godfrey also takes Collective Worship every Monday afternoon.
