Gardening Day April 2019

All the pupils & staff had a great day on Tuesday to start our topic of ‘What do we need for life!’. The day started with an Easter Egg Hunt for the Giants Golden Egg. The egg was found by Blossom and Paige, so the giant is happy!

We had four projects on the go all day, the children planted a pea, for a pea race along with making a stick to measure its growth. They made newspaper pots, planted sunflower seeds, our aim is to plant them along the back hedge of the school field.

The children made lasagne beds (ask the children) to grow our peas in (eventually) and finally we weeded the top flower beds, which was a  bit of a mission, everyone worked really hard and we even managed to plant the herbs and the sweet peas as well. Everyone was on task all day and really enjoyed it.

Everyone is really keen for out outdoor learning to continue, we have decided due to numbers that we will stay on site on Monday afternoons for our time with Alan Burford and after school club will continue.
